Ask the students if they have ever flown a kite? Have you ever made a kite? Today you will get to make your own kite and fly it.

A: Provide each student with a sled kite template
B: Show students examples of paper maps that they will be using to create a sled kite
C: Have students construct kite
D: Allow students to try flying their kite using a breeze outside during recess
